This is the easiest top you will ever make. Just like its namesake chair, it has clean, stylish lines and a classic look. And just like the vacation spot in upstate NY, it’ll make you feel like you’re on holiday every time you wear it.
This top is easy for sewists of all levels, and even comes with a step-by-step video tutorial. (Access the tutorial using the link printed at the top of the first page of instructions.)
The pattern comes in two size packs: S-XL, and XL-4XL. Check the photos for our size chart (which is designed to fit REAL people, not stick bugs.) Choose your size pack and whether you want a hard copy or a digital download using the drop-down menus.
You will need two yards of 45” fabric, or 1.75 yards of 60” fabric. Add more yardage for longer tops and larger & taller humans- we suggest two yards of 45” fabric, or 1.75 yards of 60” for XL Sizes.
You can make your top from either woven or stable knit fabrics. We suggest anything with a soft hand and a nice drape, such as cotton lawn, soft linen, and just about any silk. You can also use any stable knit, such as interlock or a stable jersey.
Yardage includes fabric to make self bias binding on the neck edge. Add 1/2 yard if you also want to bind your sleeve edges or hem.
